Classics Introduction

The idea behind this feature is simple.  I want my wife Barbara to see more really good older movies, and I want to see more classics myself, so I determined to start a blog wherein we view and review them.  As we go along we’ll both write about them, and invite others (you!) to share their (your) opinions.

Unless special circumstances dictate otherwise, for each batch I will suggest five titles to Barbara (just like a traditional Oscar category!) and she will make the final selection. We’ll watch the film and write it up for posting.

Are they all classics?  That, of course, is in the eyes of each and every beholder. Somebody thought so, or they wouldn’t have made my ever-evolving master list, which tallies the results of several “best” or “greatest” lists, plus many of my own additions.  We will be making our own determinations in our reviews.  That’s part of the fun!  Questions? Comments?  Let us know, and don’t be shy.

One warning:  There be spoilers in our reviews!  Beware, unless you have already seen the movie in question.
